Animals have a profound impact on human lives. Animals matter. Yet, global, government-level recognition of animal welfare is virtually non-existent. The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is working to change that.

WSPA, hundreds of other animal protection groups and a network of 2 million animal lovers worldwide are working to put animal welfare on the global political agenda. We’re are asking governments around the world, including Canada, to support a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW) which will then be presented at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

A UDAW has the power to act as a catalyst for change, influence laws in many countries and improve the lives of animals.

In order for the UDAW to be presented to the UN, governments in individual countries must say they support it. The government of Canadian has not yet given its support. You have the power to influence them. Join us and tell Canada, and the world, that animals matter to you.
