Animals matter to 81,831 Canadians

The Canadian campaign for a UDAW

Since 2007, WSPA Canada has been lobbying the Canadian government to support a UDAW.  Individual MPs of all stripes have shown support, but the Canadian government hasn’t -- yet.

In April 2009, a critical move was made towards achieving success in Canada – Scarborough Southwest MP Michelle Simpson tabled a private members’ motion calling on the government to support a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW). The motion will be debated soon, so please contact your MP and encourage them to support it

Fuelling our lobbying work is the support of the Canadian public. So far, more than 60,000 Canadians have said they support the campaign to achieve a UDAW and that animals matter to them. Add your name to the list.
